2nd Anual Grilled Cheese Pageant!!

Remember this little beauty?

Mmmmm, melty challah bread grilled cheese - I dream about it...often.

Well, I entered it into the 2nd Anual Grilled Cheese Pageant!! I couldn't resist, smokey gouda, deep complex baby bellas...you might have caught me drooling just now...you might not have.

Anyway, you can enter too, just head over and follow the guidelines (p.s. there's a pretty juicy looking prize too).

So here's the no recipe-recipe, incase you were too lazy to click on the above link.

Saute as many portobello mushrooms as you please to have on your sammie (I bought pre-sliced baby bellas) in a touch of olive oil. Lightly butter the slices of challah (not too thick) on one side and set in a frying pan, open-face style, over medium heat. Layer the cheese slices, havarti on one slice of bread and gouda on the other, and let them start to melt while the mushrooms are doing their thing. Once the mushrooms are nice and tender, place them over one slice of the bread. As soon as the cheese starts to melt and the bread is nice and golden sandwhich them together. Voila, creamy delisciousness - you're welcome.

  1. This sounds incredible - especially with the homemade challah. Thanks so much for entering it into the Grilled Cheese Pageant!
